Jazzy Brunch in NYC

I had the pleasure of dining at Garage Restaurant and Café, the classiest Sunday brunch restaurant located in Greenwich Village, NYC. Garage provides an amazing atmosphere along with live, soothing, jazz music setting the tone of a causal and fabulous end of the week celebration meal. From the floor to ceiling are brickwork walls, glowing atmosphere, and an exclusive two story fireplace accenting a spotlighted stage for premier jazz bands to perform, this restaurant is the ultimate treat. Oh, and did I mention they offer bottomless mimosas for only $6.95?
The food is delicious and impeccably plated including a various amount of pancakes, French toast, and waffle creations with bursting flavors of fruit jellies and fillings flowing out of the bread ridges as well as juicy, jumbo filled omelets with fresh, made-to-order famously hot breakfast meats.
To all my hospitality food lovers living so far up North, the bottom line is to have a fabulous Sunday brunch at Garage Restaurant and Cafe because of the soothing tone of jazz music, bottomless mimosas, and exquisite food items all inside an astonishing atmosphere.

A Southern Breakfast in New York

Silver Spurs, located on Broadway between 10th and 9th street in the lovely neighborhood of Greenwich Village, is a fabulous diner serving various breakfast items, sandwiches and juicy burgers. This restaurant made me feel like I was back in the South with their endless maple syrup pancakes and extra cheesy omelets. Thank goodness New York has a place that serves my type of plates, fully loaded, smothered, covered and fried!! The Western Theme, cow print booths, and affordable menu items perfectly twist the South into the Big Apple. I ordered a mouthwatering chocolate chip waffle that was out of this world along with freshly squeezed orange juice. Silver Spurs is definitely a diner I will return to for a marvelous meal for a deal, and most importantly, when my tummy misses home sweet home.

Sometimes even adults need toys to play with- TOY Restaurant in Gansevoort Meatpacking

This Southern Gal took another bite out of the Big Apple!! After spending New Years Eve at the Gansevoort Park hotel, it seemed only fair to make an appearance at the Gansevoort Hotel in the Meatpacking District. TOY, the main floor restaurant, boasts an exquisitely detailed, two-story dining room and bar filled with brilliant decor and tasteful Asian-inspired entrees. Neon lights, black leather, a geometric sculpture hanging from the two-story dining room along with a digital screen displaying the TOY logo are just some of the features this restaurant has to offer (not to mention the enormous punch bowl for two priced at a mere $30).

Hawaii- Tropical Paradise Worthy of Envy

Our first " Cockiest Traveler of the Week" is none other than my best friend Brett Schiff.

Imagine walking down the steps of a chartered plane, instantly feeling the sea-warmed breeze wash over your body as the sun soothes your skin, and hearing the tropical wildlife echoing from the volcanic islands of Hawaii. This doesn't even begin to describe the paradisaical feeling Hawaii has to offer. From the white and black sands edging the coral reefs to the etherial waterfalls misting the tropical rainforest, it is truly paradise.

Spending two weeks on the exotic, gem on earth known as Hawaii seems to be a dream come true. It's no wonder this is the destination for many honeymoons and vacations. If the opportunity ever presents itself, there is no reason anyone should turn down this trip.

They say pictures says a thousand words, but in this specific case even a million wouldn't suffice to encompass what Hawaii has to offer.

Aloha!

Mason Jar: Gamecock Bar in New York City

Home Sweet Home!! The Mason Jar, located on East 30th Street in Manhattan, is the ultimate hotspot for Gamecock fans to watch the football game from the Big Apple. I was amazed to see so many University of South Carolina alumni at the Mason Jar cheering on our boys to victory.  From fried pickles to spiked strawberry sweet tea, this bar is filled at capacity on game day! The menu is specifically named “Gamecock Menu,” offering a wide variety of Southern Cookin’ options.  As soon as you walk in the glass doors on game day, the entire restaurant is decked out in garnet, black and white, including a giant blow up cocky hanging on the second floor. So, for all you hardcore Carolina fans living up north, I highly suggest you check out the Mason Jar on game days!
*Note: I would recommend arriving at least an hour before kick off because tables get filled up quick!!*

David Burke Kitchen's Zac Young Delivers a One-of-a-Kind Dessert

The meticulously detailed dessert creations fashioned by David Burke Kitchen's Head Pastry Chef, Zac Young, have the ability to transport you into the surreal world of dessert heaven. After being lucky enough to sample the 2013 NYE dessert beforehand, I can only imagine the watering mouths of each customer that evening.
The sinfully delicious aromas of chocolate, caramel, and toasted coconut quickly filled the air as the gourmet, entirely edible dessert was placed before me. Each element of design that went into creating the overall breathtaking presentation was perfectly placed. Adjectives are barely capable of describing Zac's haute couture dessert creations, so anyone that has the opportunity to taste for themselves should take it!

It's no surprise that Zac Young was one of the few selected competitors on Top Chef Just Dessert and Unique Sweets.

From the handmade, artfully crafted chandeliers to the heated balcony overlooking the Empire State Building, this hotel is truly in a league of its own. My fabulous New Years Eve was filled with multiple VIP rooms in the two story Penthouse bar.
